In short: a home watch visit is a scheduled walkthrough of an empty home, inside and out, looking for the early signs of expensive problems (leaks, A/C failure, humidity, pests, storm damage, break-ins). You get a dated photo report afterward. It isn't cleaning or repairs; it's catching things early and getting the right people in.
During hurricane season (June 1 – November 30), Standard and Premium include a pre-storm visit (loose items, shutters if arranged, photos) and a post-storm visit as soon as roads are safe. More on our hurricane home watch page.
Check your insurance policy first. Many policies limit some coverage when a home sits vacant for a set period, often 30–60 days (Triple-I), so ask your agent what they expect. For most empty single-family homes in Martin County's summer, weekly interior visits are the safe choice. Condos with the water off can often go every other week.
