Hobe Sound's quiet, tree-lined neighborhoods are some of the most sought-after on the Treasure Coast, and some of the most exposed during storm season. We check Hobe Sound homes on a regular schedule so you can enjoy your time away knowing someone is actually walking through the house.
Serving Hobe Sound and all of Martin County, with visits booking now for the 2026โ27 season.
Hobe Sound is the quietest corner of Martin County: lots of trees, a laid-back downtown, and neighborhoods tucked between Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Intracoastal. That shade is beautiful, and it also means falling limbs on roofs and screen enclosures, clogged gutters, and wildlife looking for a way into an empty house. On every Hobe Sound visit we walk the roofline and enclosure for limb damage and check soffits, the garage and the attic hatch for signs of critters.
Hobe Sound also has a lot of 55+ and gated communities, like Heritage Ridge and Lost Lake, where neighbors look out for each other. Neighbors can't go inside your home, though. We can โ and we check under sinks, the water heater and the A/C drain line, which is where small leaks usually start.
Own across the bridge on Jupiter Island? We cover the Town of Jupiter Island too โ see the Jupiter Island home watch page for how we handle larger estates, staff and island security.

We check homes across Hobe Sound: gated and 55+ communities like Lost Lake and Heritage Ridge, The Preserve, Banner Lake, Gomez, the streets around downtown and Dixie Highway, and homes near Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge. Across Bridge Road we also cover the Town of Jupiter Island. Gated community? We follow your gate or HOA vendor process before the first visit.
Hurricane season lines up almost exactly with the months most Hobe Sound snowbirds are up north. Heavy tree canopy is part of what makes Hobe Sound beautiful, and it's also why limbs on roofs, torn screen enclosures and clogged gutters top our post-storm list. On Standard and Premium plans we do a pre-storm visit (exterior baseline photos, loose items and shutters handled the way you've told us to) and a post-storm visit once Martin County says roads are passable. You get photos of the roof, ceilings, windows, lanai and screens, so you know quickly whether you need to call your insurer. More in our hurricane home watch guide.
Summer humidity is the quiet risk in an empty Hobe Sound home. If the A/C stops or the condensate line clogs, moisture builds fast. The EPA recommends keeping indoor humidity below 60% and drying any water damage within 24โ48 hours to prevent mold (EPA). That's why every interior visit includes the A/C, the drain line and a humidity reading, and why we suggest the AC Drain Line Overflow Kit for homes that sit empty all summer.
Full detail: what every home watch visit includes.
Hobe Sound homes sit under a lot of tree canopy and close to the Indian River Lagoon and Jonathan Dickinson State Park. That shapes what goes wrong when a house sits empty. These are the items we pay extra attention to on every Hobe Sound visit, on top of our standard interior and exterior walkthrough:
After every visit you get a dated photo report. If something needs attention, we contact you right away and, with your OK, coordinate the plumber, A/C tech or other vendor.
Before you leave, read our Martin County summer closing checklist. Want alerts between visits? The Smart Protection Kit sends leak, freeze, humidity and smoke alerts to your phone.
Plenty of Hobe Sound homes are second homes: a winter place near downtown, a villa in a 55+ community, or an estate across the bridge on Jupiter Island that's empty for months at a time. Vacation home watch is built around when you're actually here:
